New York — The NFL and its Players Union are so far apart on negotiations that they are on the verge of a 2011-2012 season lockout.
The work stoppage would be the first since 1987 if no deal is reached by the end of the collective bargaining agreement on Friday.
The main issue is how to divide the $9 billion in league revenue.
