Loleatta Holloway album coverNew York —  Disco singer Loleatta Holloway died Monday evening after battling an illness at 64-years-old. Holloway was known for disco songs such as “Hit and Run” and “Love Sensation.”

“Holloway’s death was confirmed Monday by her manager, Ron Richardson,” reported early Tuesday.

Holloway was born in Chicago, Illinois in November 1946, and began her career singing gospel music with the Queen of Gospel.

Reports of Holloway’s death have spread across Twitter, Reddit, and numerous other sources.
