A teen mom faces life behind bars after she was caught on tape  attempting to smother her baby at a Forth Worth Tex. hospital.

Shantaniqua Nykole Scott, 18, was convicted Thursday in  Forth Worth, after a stunned jury watched video of Scott try to smother her 4-month-old son on two different occasions.

The video, captured after a doctor at the hospital became suspicious of child abuse and placed a monitor in the baby’s room, shows Scott placing a blanket over the babies face for more than 20 seconds on one occasion, and covering the nose and mouth of the baby for more than a minute on another.

Fortunately, doctors were able to resuscitate the baby after he stopped breathing. He is now is foster care, while Scott faces sentencing.
