I think you people have entirely lost the point here. In the African-American community most particularly there is a great deal of ignorance and bigotry toward gay people. I don’t approve of that in the least. They keep calling it a preference or lifestyle – it is a God given orientation, and God doesn’t make junk. Nobody but nobody would prefer to be gay. To defame gay people as God made them is to defame God Himself, and I don’t think God would approve of that. I am sympathetic to the fact that it would be very difficult for Tyler Perry to come out, if in fact he is gay. I think he is at least bisexual. Having said all that, he fosters homophobia in at least one of his films, and that is a disgrace. Why make money off of homophobia and to kiss up to the Bible Thumpers? Does Tyler Perry have any degree of character? That is cheap shot to make money if you ask me. It is people like Tyler Perry that make life even more difficult for gay citizens, especially gay Black citizens. Come clean. You are what you are. Why be such a hypocrite? If you are not gay or bisexual, why would you reinforce such blatant hate and ignorance? No good can some of that. Not cool. Also, I think Janet Jackson needs to realize that when she makes homophobic remarks in film, she is hating gays. Only because her Brother was attracted to children does not mean most gays are – so she does double damage.Is she also a gold digger looking for a buck at the expense of gay people? Shame, Shame, Shame!

Its very sad to read some of the hateful comments some of you have posted. I am so glad that I have learned that homosexuals are people too and I although I don’t condone the lifestyle, people have a right to be who they are and love whomever they choose. I hope Tyler Perry isn’t gay but if he is God bless him anyway because he tries so hard to send out positive messages in his movies to the black community. He represents us well and he employs alot of black actors and actresses through his company. African Americans should be down on their knees thanking God for a man like TP who has recognized that there has been a breakdown in the black family structure and has done his part to try and help build it up. Say whatever the hell you want about his sexuality, it does not take away from the fact that he is a great human being doing more than some of you have ever even attempted to do and remained humble about it. If he wasn’t gay and was with a white woman,we’d complain about that also. Give the man a break and clean up around your own backyard and try to make a positive difference in the black community.

Whatever Tyler Perry’s sexual orientation is IS HIS OWN BUSINESS. No one has ANY RIGHT to force anyone else to reveal anything he does or does not know about him or herself. That is incredibly LUDICROUS to expect otherwise. Why is it that the media tries to hide its own salacious gossip and nosiness under the guise of assuaging public curiosity. Whoever wrote this column needs to shut him or herself up in their own closet and never come out again! At least until they learn some manners. Otherwise they do not even deserve to be in the presence of human company.

What is more, it is damning to not allow a person who has experienced the human suffering of molestation as a child to properly heal. And healing can take a lifetime. It will never be attained if jerks like this ignoramous continue to blare out slander with no integrity. For GRAVE DISGUST AND GREAT SHAME!!!

It’s a funny kind of double jeopardy, to me. But I believe the saying is “damned if you do and damned if you don’t” and for the so-called Christians casting stones “let he who is without sin cast the first stone”. Yes, it is amazing with everything else going on in the world that we still find time to try and tear people down! And half of the time those very same people would love him if they had some of his fame! Jealousy, Greed and Envy will always be alive and key! The funny part is that they don’t even realize that all publicity is good publicity. So, even though they talk down on him they may spark the interest of another individual that will love him! Don’t hate him because he had the will, nerve, courage, desire, and drive to achieve things in his life! Be inspired!Live your life to the fullest and don’t worry about the Jones’. I have always found it rather funny that homosexual people are so sure that they have a special sense that allows them to detect who else is homosexual. Yet homosexuals continue to refuse to refer to their relationshps as what The Most High God refers to them as; “un-natural, and abominations”. So in my opinion, what this writer/author needs to be doing is praying to be delivered from that evil spirit of homosexuality and stop assuming that he knows who else is possessed with the spirit.
