The International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant Wednesday for Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on charges of masterminding atrocities in Darfur.
Court spokeswoman Laurence Blairon said the warrant was on five charges of crimes against humanity and two of war crimes including murder, extermination, torture and rape. However the three-judge panel that issued the warrant said there was insufficient evidence to support charges of genocide.
