D.C. Girls’ Track Team Runs With More Confidence In “Skorts”

WASHINGTON- Dunbar High School’s female runners are now racing with more confidence after a coach decided to re-suit them with “skorts” that cover their curves and eliminate embarrassing moments.

Dunbar Coach Marvin Parker came up with the idea after he noticed girls on the team false-starting at the start line on purpose because of boys who were pointing and talking about their rear-ends.

Parker got the idea of having the girls wear skirts over compression shorts, after watching a Women’s tennis match.

The new uniforms were a hit with girls on the team.

“I feel self-conscious a lot,” junior Imani Reeves says. “The skort uniform is great because it actually covers everything up.”
