A new high-definition channel dedicated to African Americans is launching early next year called Legacy TV.
The brainchild of television producer Byron Allen, Legacy TV will aim to show positive, celebratory images of Black people across the world.
“The mission of Legacy.TV is to celebrate African-American excellence everywhere,” said Allen, the former comedian who heads Entertainment Studios. “Our goal and commitment is to make Legacy.TV an engaging and compelling platform which communicates the entire African- American journey. All content will be originally produced in-house to insure the highest level of creative quality, as well as the ability to distribute our content globally on all platforms.”
The channel has yet to make a deal with a TV or satellite provider for coverage.
