Drought Causes Government To Declare Texas A Natural Disaster

The state of Texas has been declared a natural disaster by the US Department of Agriculture after at least 213 counties have lost 30 percent of their crops or pasture this year.
The declaration will allow farmers to apply for emergency loans at low interest rates.
“This is a disaster,” Texas farmer Scott Harmon said. “This is a train wreck.”
