A Texas man took advantage of a little-known provision in state law and now has a whole neighborhood mad at him.

Kenneth Robinson, who many are looking at as either a hero or squatter, recently landed an abandoned home worth $300,000 for $16.00.

From Real Estate AOL:

Robinson said that the abandoned house is his for the taking, since neither the original owner nor the bank is likely to go to the trouble or expense of kicking him out. If he can manage to stay in the property for three years, he says, the law grants him the right to petition the court for title to the house.

Do you think the neighbors would have a problem with this man if he was white?
