Program Delivers Entrepreneurs To Startups In Struggling Cities

Black BusinessA program aimed at helping jumpstart the local economies of struggling cites is pairing high-performing college graduates and business startups in cities like Detroit, New Orleans and Providence, R.I.

Modeled after Teach For America, Venture For America is a two-year program that places recent college graduates into business startups.

“Our concrete goal is to generate 100,000 U.S. jobs by 2025,” VFA president Andrew Yang told the Boston Herald.

“The primary driver [for applicants] will be the desire to get into startups and learn how to build businesses,” he told Fast Company. “It’s not easy to find that experience out of college.”
