AUGUSTA, Ga. — The daughter of the late James Brown is not happy with the court system.

She wants a judge to throw the book at one of her dad’s former trustees who was sentenced to house arrest.

“Injustice,” said Deanna Brown. “A true injustice has been done.”

The James Brown family wants South Carolina courts to reconsider the house arrest sentence for former trustee David Cannon.

“There was thievery and there was debt,” said Brown, who is filing official court documents for reconsideration and restitution. “We probably will not get back what was taken, but it is the principle of the fact.”
