Video has surfaced online of a police officer pepper spraying students from the University of California Davis who were conducting a peaceful protest on campus.

The video has led the chancellor of the university to call for an official investigation.

“The use of the pepper spray as shown on the video is chilling to us all and raises many questions about how best to handle situations like this,” Chancellor Linda Katehi said.

In the video, fellow protesters are seen screaming for the officer to stop.

The faculty at the university are asking for the chancellor to resign, holding her responsible for the incident.  The students were protesting in support of the Occupy Wall Street Movement.
