Why are we even discussing an issue Cheney spoke on? Clearly he did not know what was going on in the office, so y are we even letting him tinkle our minds. He was clearly the only person that would sit back and let George do what he did. He was just a face for VP. He never made a decision w/o George second guessing him even if it made sense. Because he never was VP cuz of smarts. He is a business man, not a policy man. Dumb ol' phuck.

HarlemRose, I think you're dead on! Powell couldn't stomach the right wing agenda anymore, particularly the foreign policies and covert ops. And with the way the Bush administration hung him out during that first term, I believe his wife in fact may have told him that enough was enough. I'll never forget his speech to the U.N. with him performing his final act for the Cheney/Bush administration. As long as Rush and Dick spearhead the voice of the GOP, the Dems should stay in power. Honestly, as a registered Dem, I sometimes wonder if that's the best thing for this country as well. We must remain vigilant and hopeful.

Keep On....

Colin Powell is a Republican who believes in the ideals that the party was founded on, but has abandoned in favor of non-progressive views on race, women, science, and economics. You know, the bs that they allow themselves to be portrayed as. The Republican Party is failing and they know it. They're trying hard to keep up with the times by promoting diversity in their party with Bobby Jindal and Michael Steele, but they fail to realize that it's not just because Obama' bi-racial that people like him. It's because he is in sync with the needs of many people. He's charismatic, intelligent, and pragmatic. The same qualities he shares with Colin Powell, which is why Powell bowed out of the Bush administration when he did. He just couldn't out up with the bs anymore.
