Herman Cain Endorses Newt Gingrich For PresidentSpeculation has run rampant for months and now it’s official. Former GOP presidential candidate, Herman Cain, has endorsed Newt Gingrich as the next president of the United States,  reports MSNBC.com

Romney Fights Back

Saturday night In West Palm Beach, Florida, the former Godfather Pizza magnate made it clear that he was 100 percent behind the Republican du-jour, by stating:

I hearby officially and enthusiastically endorse Newt Gingrich for president of the United States.

Previously, at a pivotal point in the campaign — when Chris Christie (R-NJ) and Sarah Palin announced that they would not be entering the ring, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney‘s inability to maintain a lead remained consistent, Gov. Rick Perry‘s (R-Texas) “N—-rhead” controversy caused him to lay low and Michele Bachmann (R-MN) began her disappearing act — Cain was in the same shoes that Gingrich finds himself in tonight — the unexpected position of being the GOP front-runner.

After his own presidential bid imploded — when his arrogance, ignorance on foreign policy issues and his alleged tendency to sexually harass blonde women led him to a significant drop in popularity — Cain began to suggest that his ethnicity played a role in how he was treated in the media. This was especially ironic coming from a man who has always claimed that “race can not hold anyone back”

Gingrich has also been no stranger to the news cycle. In addition to Gingrich’s second ex-wife revealing to the media that he asked for an open marriage, when he was discovered cheating with his now third wife, and the last few days dedicated to explaining his penchant for lunar colonies, Gingrich has pushed to the head of the pack with good ole’ fashion race-baiting and class warfare. He called Spanish the “language of living in the ghetto” and stated that black Americans should be asking for “paychecks, not food stamps.” He also fallaciously claimed that President Barack Obama was the “Food Stamp President.”

I’m not really sure if Herman Cain shucking and jiving by his side — or a few steps behind him — will give Gingrich a push in the polls, but maybe Florida, and the contentious race brewing with Romney, will tell the tale.
