Heather Brown is accused of driving her 19-year-old son, Josjua Brown, to a woman’s house where he shot it up with bullets and killing a 12-year-old girl in the process, the Detroit Free Press reports.
It appears the shooting took place over a cell phone.
The Free Press has more:
Brown was charged with first-degree murder, assault with intent to murder and felony firearm. Magistrate Steve Lockhart ordered him to stay in jail without bail during a video arraignment in 36th District Court in Detroit on Sunday.
Prosecutors said Heather Brown, 35, drove her son to the home and away from the scene after the shooting. She was charged with being an accessory after the fact.
“She is grossly undercharged to this court’s mind,” Lockhart said today.
Heather Brown is accused of helping her son flee and not assisting authorities apprehend her son, he said.
“It would appear not a reach to feel she knowingly drove an armed individual to shoot up a house,” he said.
