Murphy, 50, is divorced from Nicole Mitchell, whom he married in 1993.  The couple had five children together before Mitchell filed for divorce in 2005 and a year later it was finalized.  Murphy has dated a bevy of well-known beauties, from music icon Whitney Houston back in the ’80s to Spice Girl Melanie Brown (who is his baby’s momma) to legendary music producer Tracey Edmonds, who he semi-married in a bizarre Bora-Bora ritual that was never legalized here in the United States.

Now a source has reportedly told US Weekly that Murphy and Braxton are serious and have been dating for about four months.

Braxton is separated from singer Karl Lewis of the R&B group Mint Condition. The couple married in 2001, and eight years later, they decided to part company, although they remain good friends.  Ironically, on the singer’s hit reality show “Braxton Family Values,” Braxton has discussed trying to find a suitable mate for herself and not being able to find one.  Braxton attributed her unsuccessful attempts at love to the demands of her career and focus on her second son, Diezel, 8, who has autism.  The 44-year-old multi-Grammy Award-winning performer has also had her fair share of health problems, including her latest battle with the autoimmune disorder lupus.

According to Braxton’s rep, “Toni and Eddie are just friends and have been fans of each other’s work for a long time,” the insider says, “Their kids have met and everything. It’s getting very serious.”

Hopefully this relationship won’t turn out to be just “Another Sad Love Song” for Braxton.
