Dude, I wish I logged on more frequently than I do. Great topic, PETA is the biggest publicity whore out there, before Vick noone even knew anything about PETA. If they want to protest MV, why didn’t they protest Sarah Palin shooting wolves from a helicopter in Alaska..oh yeah I had a brain fart (white woman)and she can do no wrong. Where is PETA when all the poultry companies are killing, and Sarah Palin (the great white woman)did that interview while turkeys were being slaughtered behind her, where was PETA? There is no money in a washed-out fake-azz vice-presidential nominee to protest, but a rich BLACK athelete..ohhhhhhhhh all the white protesters come out pitchforks and burning stakes to not allow this “negro-boy” to kill these dogs..pleez!!!

First off I was making the point that just because something is your property does not make it right to treat a living thing with total disregard. You seem like the ignorant ones. The post said “people should be able to do what they feel with their peoperty” Which is the exact same argument slave owners used when fighting against freeing slaves. If people believed in the logic that property should be treated however the owner feels it should be treated, then I would still be a slave. I am glad someone felt the need to say that if something is alive it is not right to treat it like dirt. He made the remark that the slave owners used to justify killing black people. I am not the ignorant one here.

Mike Vick has served his time, and yes I will say that I’m defending a wealthy BLACK MAN, because those are the men that are SOMETIMES used to make an example. When they are not responsible for others actions. I never supported R.Kelly, but I did for OJ a little while, but Vick should be allowed to continue his life.

I am so sick of people defending Michael Vick. He is a sick and cruel man. He’s getting all this support because he’s a black man “who made it” therefore he has the right to do whatever he wants? But again, we just can’t get the thing about laws. I don’t like hunting, but it is legal and most hunters consume their prey so are you arguing against consuming meat?? Yeah give up your McDonalds and KFC because now your arguing against the slaughter of animals for consumption. Now we know most black people would rather wear an animal than feel empathy for it. I really don’t see how people can be so upset about dog fights when millions of people eat animals everyday. The only reason it’s illegal is because mostly poor minorities participate in things like dog fighting and chicken fighting. It’s perfectly legal for people to go out in the woods and shoot creatures that haven’t done anything to them. Why is a dog more important than a moose or a dear. Does anybody really think horses enjoy being ridden? This whole issue is BS. dog fighting should be legalized.

Comparing dog fighting to slavery??? That just sounds ignorant to me but I respect your right to sound ignorant! Personally I was shocked that Vick received so much time with all horrible crimes being committed against children, woman, and men. I agree that his debt has been repaid to society. Don’t get me wrong I am more likely to join Peta then to watch a dog fight because animals should be treated with respect, someone should speak for animals because they can’t speak for themselves and Peta is very passionate(in an extreme way). But to you I say it is good to use extreme examples to get attention and make your point but when its too far out it is distracting from your point. The problem with slavery was that one person doesn’t have the right to own another. Black people can not not be classified as property or cattle. Black people were kidnapped from their homeland, forced to work and breed for no salary, raped, beating, robbed, forcefully kept uneducated and told we should be happy about it. We are still feeling the impact of slavery today. Dog fighting sounds a lot more human to me. I would rather fight for my food then be a slave! Now unless you are saying animals should have the same rights we do, that we don’t have the right to own animals, put them to work, take them into our homes or eat them you cannot compare dog fights to slavery! Dogs are animals that we have chosen to domesticate. In some countries they are food. So if you still feel slavery is comparable to dog fighting I suggest you find a nice plantation, grew some cotton, pick it from sun up to sun down, and when your fingers are bleeding at the end of the day from the thorns and seeds from the cotton plant and your back hurts so bad you can hardly walk or stand, go to a one room shack to eat the parts of the animal your master didn’t want, and wait for someone to come beat you and oppress and humiliate you and in every way possible so that so you can understand a small part of the life of a slave!

If people should be able to do whatever they want to property, than shouldn’t slavery still be around. I mean black people were white people property and with the reasoning that people should be able to do whatever they want with their property, they should still be. I just thought that if something is alive we should not have the right to just treat it so brutally. If people thought that we should do whatever we want to our property back in the slave days, then I would be picking cotton and not typing on the net.
