Michael Wilks was a hungry man when he entered a Canton, Mississippi McDonald’s restaurant.  He ordered and paid for two filet-o-fish sandwiches, then left.  When he went to eat his lunch and reached into the bag, he found that there was only one sandwich and became infuriated.  Wilks approached the fast food establishment’s manager and point blank shot him in the arm for messing up his order, reports WLBT.

Eyewitnesses were able to give police detectives a description of the assailant and not long after, they nabbed him at the hotel.  Wilks was handcuffed by police and arrested for the shooting.

Maurice Sheppard, the victim who was shot by Wilks was taken to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.

Chief Vicki McNeil of the Canton police department told WLBT, “He insinuated his food hadn’t been prepared correctly but it seemed from his mind state, at that time, that nobody could have done anything that would have been satisfying to him.”

Meanwhile Wilks is in police custody for the shooting and a $750,000 bond has been set.  He is also being investigated for other crimes that he might have allegedly committed in another county.
