NEW YORK-Malcolm X’s daughter, Malikah Shabazz, was jailed yesterday after a Queens judge said she did not pay back the elderly woman who’s identity she was convicted of stealing.

As part of her plea deal, which gave her no jail time, Shabazz was ordered to pay back the woman $55,000. After she was delinquent in her monthly payments, and was found to be living outside of New York, a Queens judge put her back in jail.

The New York Daily News reports:

The judge ordered Malikah Shabazz held Tuesday night after probation officials said she’d failed to make any of the monthly $1,229 restitution payments she agreed to as part of a plea deal.

Shabazz ignored a judge’s order requiring her to live in New York while she serves out a five-year probation, court officials say.
