A 13-year-old Philadelphia boy was locked in his school for 9 hours as his parents frantically searched for him.

David Fields says he tried to exit the Roosevelt Middle School from a side stairwell to avoid bullies, but realized he was trapped when he approached the locked door.

Angela Johnson, David’s mother, said the family tried to get into the school to look for David but were turned away by janitors who said they weren’t allowed to look around.
