Alicia GastonAlicia Gaston, 20, of Cincinnati, OH is facing a rape charge for allegedly raping the seven-year-old son of her boyfriend, The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Cincinnati police say Gaston has confessed to engaging in sexual intercourse with the boy on April 10, 2011. A state entity charged with protecting children said they never knew of the incident, or why it took so long for the case to be reported.

Gaston faces one count of rape. She has been ordered to stay away from the child by a municipal court judge during a hearing today and her bail was set at $75,000. Gaston’s lawyer, who stood in for her regular attorney at today’s hearing, said mental issues may be involved in this case.
