Leo Riles, 18, has turned himself in for the murder of a 5-year-old girl and a 33-year-old woman in New Orleans. He has still has not implicated anyone else in the shootings, though surveillance video captured a group of men involved in the altercation, reports NOLA.com.

After being shot at a birthday party in New Orleans, Louisiana, a 5-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital, where she died from her injuries, reports NOLA.com.
According to NOPD, a 33-year-old woman, who had nothing to do with the shooting, also died after a bullet traveled three blocks and hit her while she was driving her car. A witness reports that an officer was pumping the woman’s chest when he passed by.
“He was trying to save her,” he said.
A 24-year-old man sustained a gunshot to the face and a ten-year-old had graze wounds to his face and leg.
“It was my grandson’s birthday party,” said the grandmother of the 10-year old.
She told police that men were shooting at another group of men who ran towards the party.

While New Orleans Police Chief Ronal Serpas was measured with his words, merely calling it an act of “cowardice,”Mayor Mitch Landrieu called a spade a spade, saying the shooters were “irrational thugs” who didn’t care about a child’s birthday party.
