According to the Tribune, relatives of the woman called the police to do a wellness check because they hadn’t heard from her in days. A broken key was found in the lock to her front door.

No one has been arrested in the murders and at press time, police remained on both scenes.

As previously reported by NewsOne, This comes after a violent weekend in the Windy City that ended with 4 dead and 30 wounded, including 13 -year-old Tyquan Tyler and 14-year old Antonio Davis.

“I held him in my arms on the sidewalk and talked to him while he was fighting for his life,” said Tyquan’s mother, Sandra Tyler . “I regret letting him go to the party. He was my baby — so loving and respectful.”

According to CBS, Chicago is literally a war-zone. While 144 Americans have died in Afghanistan in 2012, 228 Chicago residents have been killed. That number quadruples New York City’s rate and doubles Los Angeles’ rate.
