On June 16, police responded to a 911 call that a woman was screaming in an apartment in Northridge, California.

When they arrived, they found a 4-months pregnant woman lying on the floor in a pool of blood. According to police, she was so badly beaten, they thought she was dead.”She was in really bad condition,” said LAPD detective Chris Casey.

KTLA reports:

The trio allegedly used items like a frying pan and a lamp to make the assault look like a break-in, police said.

Corder’s pregnant wife was severely beaten, Casey said. Paramedics rushed her to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

“It’s, at times, unconscionable that someone would attack a pregnant woman knowing that not only it’s her life but it’s also a future life,” said LAPD detective Stephanie Diaz.

Neighbors told police they saw Corder crying in the apartment he shared with his wife, wondering aloud who could have beaten her so badly.

Police said they collected evidence linking him and his alleged accomplices to the crime.

All three suspects are being held on $1,000,000 dollar bond.

Tragically, this is the latest in a string of violent crimes against women by their significant others.

As previously reported by NewsOne, Latonya Bowman, 22, survived being abducted, set on fire and shot by in an attempted murder allegedly arranged by her ex-boyfriend, 22, and father of the unborn child. It is suspected that he did not want her to have his child.
