Animals shown in the video were taken out of the home by the Michigan Humane Society and local police. When the video caught the eye of animal rights groups, they raised concerns over whether the home was running a dog fighting ring. Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee said that was indeed the case.

“We’re very confident that we shut down an operation that is not contributing to the quality of life of this neighborhood,” Godbee said.

He added, “I want to thank the media for the attention that you brought to this because the humane treatment of animals … It is very important to us and some of the conditions that we saw, without going into detail, gave a lot of credence to support what, I think, is going to be a prosecutable case going forward.”

Though Young Calicoe does not explicitly say that he is a dog fighting operator in the video, the set-up of the home, the tightly-chained dogs and caged chickens look suspiciously criminal.
When Fox News 2 Detroit reached Young Calicoe on the phone, he denied the dog and chicken fighting allegations and says the video is being missed understood. He told the TV station that the video was suppose to promote his image as a battle rapper and nothing more. Young Calicoe also said the animals in the video do not belong to him.
