According to the Daily News, Roxboro Police Chief Todd Boycher said “Instead of doing the right thing and checking on her condition or letting someone know, he reaches in her cart, gets her purse and walks off with it.”

Police were able to apprehend Vaughan after the clip of the video went viral. The department was bombarded with tips of the suspect’s whereabouts.  Durham authorities picked Vaughan up last Friday after a routine traffic stop. He tried to outrun the officers but they were able to capture him.
