And the seemingly unending saga between NFL’s Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson (pictured left) and his soon-to-be ex-wife of 43 days Evelyn Lozada (pictured) continues. Now, according to RadarOnline, a friend of the battling duo has come forward and claims that the latest domestic violence episode in the Johnson household is definitely not the first.

Johnson was arrested on Saturday for allegedly physically attacking Lozada and injuring her with a headbutt. An unidentified source revealed to RadarOnline that the couple has a history of physical altercations that began right at the inception of their relationship.

The source states that Johnson has had a problem with not only Lozada’s partying, but also with the way in which she has portrayed herself on her hit VH1 reality TV series “Basketball Wives.” “Chad doesn’t like Evelyn’s party lifestyle and it made his anger worsen [sic]. He hated the way she acted on TV and would often lash out at her for any little thing,” the source contends.

Lozada allegedly filed for divorce three days after the explosive incident, and according to the source, her move does not come as a surprise to those within their circle of friends because he says, “Chad and Evelyn’s marriage was volatile in nature and a mistake from the start. He [Chad] went off the scale at her once because he was tired of having Evelyn’s friends, like her assistant and stuff, living in his house.”
The source also claims that Johnson once even threatened to kill his wife, so friends were very concerned for Lozada’s safety. Still, the feisty TV persona with the sharp tongue and quick-to-do-battle hands chose to maintain her relationship with Johnson, and according to the source, “It was hard to convince her to get out of the situation.”

As a result of the domestic squabble, Johnson got cuffed, lost his wife, got canned from his job with the Miami Dolphins, lost an endorsement deal, his VH1 reality show got axed, and an alleged ‘side chick’ spilled the beans on their affair that ended just weeks before his nuptials.
