Mervin Hamilton (pictured) of Dauphin County, N.J., has been arrested after allegedly slashing his roommate with a sword in their Lower Paxton Township home on Friday, CBS affiliate WHP-TV reports.

Hamilton, 41, was charged with felony aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person.

He was arraigned and incarcerated at the Dauphin County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail. WHP-TV reports that he has since been released.

The two roommates began arguing and their verbal disagreement ended with Hamilton allegedly slashing the victim with a sword. It is not known where the sword came from or why it was in the home. When police arrived on the scene, they reportedly found the victim bleeding with cuts on his head and hands.

The victim was treated and released from a local hospital.
