The man who took the life of comedian Niecy Nash‘s (pictured) brother some 19 years ago allegedly killed again–this time his own wife, TMZ reports.
Local police in Eunice, La., arrested Robert Lee Heard this weekend and charged him with killing his wife, 35-year-old Demetra Doyle Heard, according to the KATC-TV.
Police chief Ronald Dies says she suffered from multiple stab wounds on Saturday night. She married Heard just two months ago. Family members say that the couple looked like a happy pair and that there were no warning signs of trouble in their marriage.

“When they got together everybody was like wow, this is great, they look so good together and he would do anything for her,” recalled (Enocia Thomas, Demetria’s first cousin)
Chief Dies also said there were no reports of trouble at the Heard’s home on Prairie Street.
“No problem with him until now, he had an altercation in Shreveport but with us we had no knowledge of him besides just a normal citizen,” said Dies.
Demetra’s family said there were no apparent warning signs and believe Demetra would have said something if there was trouble.
“She had been through stuff like that before, so the person she had become, stronger, you know what I’m saying, confident in herself to know that she could overcome just about anything. So to be in a relationship that was abusive or anything it wasn’t for her so she would have just walked away,” explained Thomas.
Now Demetra’s three sons, ages 12 to 18, are left without a parent.
“What can you say to them, mom’s gone? We only get one mom in a lifetime and you can’t say enough to them,” Thomas said of the three boys.
Heard is currently in the St. Landry Parish Jail on first degree murder charges. His criminal background is extensive, including the 1993 shooting death of Niecy Nash’s brother, 17-year-old Michael Ensley, at Reseda High School in Reseda, California.
Heard was 15-years old at the time he shot Ensley. He was committed to a juvenile facility for that crime until 2002, according to TMZ. He was convicted of attempted first-degree murder in 2003 but released in 2011, TMZ added.
Nash released this statement Monday after hearing of the shooting:
“No family should have to endure the loss of a loved one at the hands of a previously convicted violent criminal. I am deeply saddened to hear that the man who murdered my brother, Michael Ensley, has been charged with murder again. I grieve for every family who has been victimized by this heinous individual. My prayers and love go out to the family of Demetra Doyle Heard during this trying time.”
