Lying to her father that he was going to have her volunteer at a funeral home where he worked in December 2006, Campbell reportedly picked up the 12-year-old youth in a hearse, telling her he was actually going to help establish her modeling career with a “skit.” While driving, Campbell convinced the girl to disrobe, adding that he needed to “take a look at [her] first.”

Once Campbell drove to a hotel, according to the girl, he showed her how to put a condom on and then “kissed and fondled her” for several hours. He then gave her $44.

Soon after, the youth told the police.

But a year later, Campbell picked her up yet again for another “skit,” and even though the girl reportedly attempted to resist, with Campbell telling her that “[this] was how Brittany Spears and Beyonce got their start,” she was not successful.

Campbell, who is a minister in Deland and West Palm Beach, was convicted on Thursday of sexual battery and engaging in sexual conduct with a minor 12 to 18 years of age.

For his offenses, the 48-year-old may be imprisoned for up to 60 years at his sentencing.
