Popular Miami rapper Bizzle or Chowtime (pictured) was shot to death not far from where his children were waiting for him at a Liberty City car wash on Monday evening. No arrests have been made as of Tuesday morning, according to police, reports The Miami Herald.

Bizzle, whose real name was Robert Labranche, was shot at around 8 p.m. and the shooting caused a large emotional crowd to gather at the scene.

Two patrol officers in the area of the car wash actually heard the gunfire and began to search the area in an attempt to try to pinpoint the source.  The men eventually discovered Labranche’s bullet-ridden body on the ground by the corner of the establishment.

According to police, Labranche was accompanied by his two children who are under the age of 10. The siblings were inside the SUV their father had been driving and were unharmed. They did not witness the their father’s murder, according to police, because they were on the other side of the building but were certainly within earshot range of the gunfire.

News of Bizzle’s fatal shooting spread like wildfire, as hundreds of family members and friends went to the scene of the shooting. The 37-year-old performer was admired and very much-loved throughout Miami, as evidenced by the crowd of onlookers at the crime scene, with many visibly crying upon hearing the tragic news.

At one point, police were forced to maintain crowd control as family members attempted to rush past the crime tape toward the body.

Police investigators are searching for a man in his early 20s, who was wearing all black and who ran from the scene after the shooting.  Anyone with information about the murder is asked to call the Miami Police Department’s Homicide Unit at 305-603-6350 or Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
