Michael Jackson’s one-time attorney Brian Oxman, who spoke to Reuters, says that “Papa Joe” was taking a leisurely walk in a park near his Las Vegas home, when he suddenly felt ill. Joe reportedly felt weak and began experiencing some of the symptoms that were only too familiar to him given his history of strokes, so he was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The 83-year-old has suffered two strokes within the last five years.

Luckily, Joe is reportedly on the road to recovery since the stroke,”He was doing well and says he’s feeling OK. He was talking fine,” Oxman says.

Joe is credited for having launched the careers of his children, Michael, Jackie, Marlon, Tito, and Jermaine, who formed the famed pop music group sensation The Jackson Five.  The group members went on to become the biggest phenomenons in pop music during the ’70s.

As of late, Jackson, who is still married to family matriarch Katherine for 62 years but lives in a different state, has been dabbling with all sorts of “get rich quick” projects. Earlier this year, the octogenarian was spotted at a Las Vegas mall hocking Jackson Perfumes.

Papa Joe, get well soon!
