Forrest Liebenberg, the Target employee Katt Williams smacked during a heated argument, has been fired from his job, TMZ reports.

Liebenberg told told CBS13 he was pink-slipped from his position without any explanation. “They weren’t very clear, but it is obvious to me that it was based on this incident.”

He also said that he did not know who Williams was before the incident. Liebenberg added that he had no idea how serious the situation was with Target until he was fired. Williams has been charged with battery after being caught on camera hitting Liebenberg.

The ex-Target employee suspects that the store probably believes that he leaked the video of the incident to the media; he denies doing so.

When reached for comment, Target only confirmed that Liebenberg was fired due to an unrelated incident and that, “Out of respect for the privacy of this individual, we cannot discuss the reasons for his departure.”

For now, Liebenberg is without a job and he’s pretty peeved about it. “People are saying he’s worth millions of dollars, and he just cost me my job,” Forrest told CBS13. “Of course that’s going to be upsetting. It is a little upsetting that someone of his stature can act like they can just get away with this kind of stuff.”

Katt Williams shocked his fans earlier this week by announcing his retirement from stand-up comedy adding, “I’m kind of done.” The popular funnyman has a Thursday court date in connection to the alleged assault against Liebenberg and other charges.
