Gill, according to court documents obtained by several local news organizations in Phoenix, placed the girl in a bathtub full of hot water. Gill said that she turn on the hot and cold water. Though she admitted that the cold water may not have been turned on enough. The little girl was allegedly screaming for more than eight minutes before Williams checked on her. The adults in the home are accused of not taking the girl to be treated for the burns she sustained, after they tried to treat the injuries with ibuprofen, gauze and antiseptic spray.

According to KPHO-TV, Alston said he was aware of the girl’s burns and that she needed help eating and going to the bathroom.

All three adults were booked on charges of child abuse.
