Fantasia Barrino anti-gay instagram rant

R&B songstress Fantasia Barrino (pictured) will be headlining the much-anticipated Super Bowl Gospel Celebration, which takes place at the University of New Orleans Lakefront Arena on Friday, February 1 during Super Bowl week. The actual game is being played at the New Orleans Superdome on Feb. 3, with Beyoncé featured as the halftime performer.

The event will be hosted by ABC’s “The View” co-host Sherri Shepherd and one of gospel music’s finest singer/writer/producers Kirk Franklin.

Some of gospel’s crème de la crème will also be on hand to perform at the 14th annual musicfest. Donnie McClurkin, Marvin Winans and Bishop Paul S. Morton of New Orleans are slated to perform. There will also be a performance by this year’s NFL “Players’ Choice” hip-hop Christian artist Lecrae, as well as the NFL Players Choir, composed of about 40 current and former players. The choir was formed by Christian NFL players who wanted to share their belief in God and inspire others through music.

Founded by Melanie Few-Harrison, president of Results Marketing & Media, Inc., the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration got its start back in 1999 in Miami during Super Bowl XXXIII weekend. In 2002, the event became the first–and remains the only–gospel event sanctioned by the NFL. To date, the event has drawn immense crowds and attendance levels continue to peak each year.
