Reportedly, the 40-year-old was in the throes of filming a video for the remix of her song “Beautiful,” which features rapper Young Jeezy, when she took a fall and dislocated her shoulder.  According to unnamed sources who spoke to the New York Post, Carey’s fall could be blamed on the stilettos that the singer is rarely seen without.

A team of doctors at the famed upper East Side’s Hospital for Special Surgery immediately went to work on Carey’s shoulder and reset it.

Entertainer and comedian Nick Cannon, who is married to Carey, was on the set directing the video when the incident took place.

Carey is reportedly fine and resting. Despite her painful injury, the trooper will reportedly still perform, albeit with her arm in a sling, at a free concert at New York City’s famed Central Park’s Great Lawn on July 13.  The concert will benefit Hurricane Sandy Relief efforts.
