In 2010, Maia was arrested for theft and sent to a mandatory mental health facility. Now sober for two years, she voluntarily lives at a residential treatment center in hopes of transitioning to living on her own.

The last time we saw the daughter of author Bebe Moore Campbell was on “Iyanla Fix My Life” in November 2012. At the time, the 35-year-old who still suffers from bipolar disorder and had been addicted to drugs, was just beginning to get her life back on track, talking with Iyanla about her issues from the past and her hopes for the future. Now, just months later, she appears to have truly done the work Iyanla so often talks about and is ready to get back to honing her craft as a working actress in Hollywood.

While there aren’t too many specific details on this new series, but the news is promising.  Knowing that those who suffer from bipolar disorder seem to thrive in an environment that is steady, stable and consistent. Family, friends and fans alike are wishing her the best of luck for years to come.
