On his alleged Facebook page, Medina seemingly posted a photo of Alfonso — with blood on her left arm and face — bent in an awkward position at both knees with her head and body leaning between a fridge and stove (pictured below), with the following message:

Rip Jennifer Alfonso

Just before that posting, Medina wrote via his cellphone:

Im [sic] going to prison or death sentence for killing my wife love you guys miss you guys takecare Facebook people you will see me in the news” my wife was punching me and I am not going to stand anymore with the abuse so I did what I did I hope u understand me “

Facebook friends immediately responded in disbelief, asking, “What happened???? derek” and “That is my friend there. jennifer Alfonso.”

Shortly after the alleged murder, authorities reportedly confirmed Medina’s identity, according to CBS4, and reportedly found Alfonso’s body at their South Miami residence. According to Medina, he allegedly shot his wife, who he reportedly married in April of 2012, during a domestic dispute.

Authorities are saying that a 10-year-old girl was at the residence when the shooting happened but was unharmed.
