Damon Dash II, 22, the son of Roc-A-Fella records co-founder, Damon “Dame” Dash, was arrested Tuesday, Sept. 24 for allegedly attacking and strangling his girlfriend in New York City, reports the New York Post.

The incident happened on September 22 in NYC’s Chelsea neighborhood in the younger’s Dash’s apartment.

“They had an apparent dispute over sex,” said an unidentified police officer.

“She was visiting him at his apartment, he got violent with her, starts to punch her, slap her and shove her onto the bed, got on top of her, he grabs her by the throat and chokes her.”

They briefly reconciled but then had another fight, at which point the victim called the cops, the source said.

Dash climbed on top of her and “placed both of [his] hands around [her] neck and squeezed tightly,” to the point where she had trouble breathing, according to the misdemeanor complaint against him.

At his arraignment on Wednesday, Dash signed an order of protection barring him from any contact with his alleged victim. He was released without bail.

“He did get physically violent with her,” the source added. “She suffered bruises, a black eye and a cut lip.” Her neck was left with red marks, the complaint alleges.

This is the second time in recent news that a young celebrity has been arrested for assaulting his girlfriend.

As previously reported by NewsOne,  Moesha star Marcus T. Paulkwho played precocious baby brother Myles on the hit ’90s sitcom, was arrested after allegedly kicking a woman violently in the stomach.

The woman, identified as Paulk’s girlfriend, ‘Dirty Pop’ singer Andi Roxx, said that he became angry in Beverly Hill’s nightclub Confidential when she wasn’t “paying him enough attention.”
