Legendary gospel star Andrae Crouch (pictured) was rushed to a hospital Sunday after falling ill in his shower at his Los Angeles home, reports TMZ.

The 71-year-old eight-time, Grammy Award-winning performer, songwriter, producer and pastor was taking a shower when he was reportedly overcome by its heat. Crouch, who suffers from diabetes, immediately yelled for his twin sister and assistant to help him get out of the shower as he felt faint.

An ambulance was summoned to the scene and Crouch was transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment. Several hours later, doctors gave Crouch the “OK” to go home.

Crouch, whose signature songs include “Soon and Very Soon” and “My Tribute (To God Be the Glory),” told TMZ that his harrowing shower episode had something to do with his diabetes. Although he said he feels totally recovered from the incident, he admitted to TMZ that “Diabetes is no fun.”

Crouch, who is not married and has no children, sent out a heartfelt thanks via TMZ.

“Thanks to all my fans for all your prayers and support.”
