I felt that Dr. Fischer took a critical perspective on the elections in San Francisco and the individual propositions that were involved in the 2008 November elections.

I admire the fact that she seeked to understand and break apart the essence of the Prop's discussed and how it represents the people of the community and our country. As well as, the city she votes in!

From reading this article, I gained an approach I can use for the next elections. I voted for the first time in these elections for our presiden, but I honestly didn't get the chance to actually research or analyzed the Prop's. Next time I want to take the time and really look at the Prop's and how they are going to affect society holistically.

Her conclusions were relevant and should be considered as a way to open your eyes to understanding what people are voting, wanting, and not realizing what is being represented in the elections.

I found this article to be convincing and I look forward to hearing her views in the upcoming year!

Dr. Fischer,
I wanted to compliment you on your article on the Nov. 4 election.
You bring up some very valid points on SF politics that need to be addressed in regards to the voters perspective on issues as they pertain to the African American Community. There is an imbalance in the amount of media attention and public outcry on propositions that affect African Americans, as well as those in the community with a lower socio economic privilege. If we don't stand up for what's right then no progress will be made.
I look forward to reading more of your thoughts now that the elections have been decided, particularly on President Elect Obama and his upcoming term.
