Is Matthew Knowles, singer Beyonce’s dad and former manager, spilling the beans that the infamous elevator incident was staged?

Knowles put himself back in the news recently following an appearance on the Roula & Ryan show on 104.1 KRBE in Houston earlier this week. In an interview, he was asked about the infamous elevator incident earlier this year that involved his other daughter, Solange, attacking Jay Z.

“I know, because we’ve done this. From experience, there’s a tour going on,” Knowles said. “So you sometimes have to ignite that tour. It’s called a Jedi mind trick. The Jedi mind trick fools you a lot.”

He went on to say, “All I know is the Jedi mind trick. Everyone’s talking about it. Ticket sales went up. Solange’s album sales went up 200%!”

Knowles is, of course, no longer Beyonce’s manager and, reportedly, estranged from his two daughters since divorcing their mother, Tina Knowles. So, there is no telling how much he knows about the inner workings of their business or personal lives.

Listen to the full interview.

We want to hear from you: Do you think the Knowles-Carter clan created a scandal to drive ticket sales? Do you care either way?
