The 45-year-old screenwriter and producer has not officially made a public statement, but on Friday at the opening night of the New York Film Festival, he told the Associated Press, “Good, good. We’re good. Very happy. She’s excited, I’m excited so we’re very happy.”

Tyler has been reportedly dating his 28-year-old Ethiopian model girlfriend Gelila Bekele (pictured) for about five years now off-and-on and the baby is a first for both.

It was reported that Perry had actually made the pregnancy announcement at his recent 45th birthday party he threw for himself.  Tons of A-list celebrities showed up to fete the uber-successful businessman and director.  According to Perry, musical performances by such stellar musicians as “Jennifer Holliday, Desiree Coleman Jackson, Tevin Campbell, Ledisi, Monica, Jazmine Sullivan, Tamia, Mary Mary, LeAnn Rimes, Yolanda Adams, Rachelle Ferrell, and Stevie Wonder brought the house down,” he stated on his Facebook page.

When legendary musician extraordinaire Stevie Wonder sat at the piano in Perry’s living room and began to perform, Perry admits he was so in awe of the moment that he had to actually pinch himself to make sure he was not dreaming.

In addition to treating himself to the spectacular and memorable event, Perry also made his birthday even more special by donating $45,000 to Young People Matter, Atlanta’s only emergency shelter for kids under 18.  The center’s doors were in danger of closing and thanks to Perry’s generosity, the facility is able to remain open.

It is rumored that the pregnancy is about seven or eight months along.

Congratulations, you two!
