Ramona Braswell (pictured) is facing child abuse charges after police arrested her for tasering her own 3-year-old child, according to WFLA.

Police investigators allege that Braswell, who lives in St. Petersburg, Florida took a taser gun, which is an electroshock weapon that shoots dart-like electrodes.  The gun delivers incapacitating electrical current to its subject.  Those who are struck can sustain serious injuries from falls.

A police report alleges that Braswell touched her child’s arm with the taser and in doing so, caused injuries that were “visible” to authorities.

Police has not released any information on the child’s gender or how extensive the injuries were.

Braswell was released from the Pinellas County Jail after posting a $5,000 bond on Saturday night.  The mom is scheduled to face arraignment at a later date.
