According to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s department, Knight arrived on the movie set “Straight Outta Compton,” the upcoming biopic about the famed pioneering rap group N.W.A. that involves hip-hop cash king Dr. Dre and film/music mogul Ice Cube.  When the security officers on the set reportedly instructed Knight to leave the premises, a fight broke out between the 49-year-old former Death Row Records executive and two men.  Witnesses told authorities that at some point during the fracas, Knight hopped back in to his pickup and threw the vehicle in reverse, hitting three men, including his friend Terry Carter who died. Cle “Bone” Sloane, who appeared in the film “Training Day,” was also injured along with another unidentified man.

Sloane and the other unidentified victim involved in the hit-and-run were reportedly the instigators, according to sources connected with Knight. Reportedly the 6’5″, 350-plus pounds Knight did not want to get in to a physical altercation because of his frail health; Knight was shot six times last summer at a Chris Brown affair and also recently nearly died from a blood clot in his lungs.

Carter, who had arrived with Knight on the film set, was reportedly walking toward the passenger door of the truck, and when Knight allegedly reversed his vehicle, Carter was unfortunately hit.

Sloane and the other victim are hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries, according to TMZ.

Knight, who has a long history of trouble with the law and violent encounters, allegedly fled the scene after the incident and ditched his Ford F-150 pickup.  Hours later, however, Knight reportedly surrendered to the sheriff’s office accompanied by his attorney.

Knight’s bail has been reportedly set at $2 million.
