Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch isn’t the only member of his team making headlines these days. The team’s star cornerback Richard Sherman is also making news, saying he is unsure what he will do if the birth of his son coincides with the Super Bowl, according to ESPN.

Sherman’s girlfriend, Ashley Moss, is expected to give birth to their son any day as his team prepares to square off against the New England Patriots Sunday in the Super Bowl.

ESPN reports:

But if his son decides it’s time to enter the world on Sunday, Sherman may be faced with a career-defining decision.

“We’ll cross that bridge when we get there,” Sherman said. “We’re not thinking about the possibility.”

Sherman declined to give a more definitive answer about whether he would skip the Super Bowl. Meanwhile, his teammate Lynch is in the news for speaking loudly without using words. Lynch is under fire for his flamboyant defiance of NFL rules, including refusing to cooperate with the media and wearing an unapproved hat to press events this week.

So far, Seahawk fans appear to be forgiving of Lynch, but would they forgive Sherman, a key player on the team, for missing the Super Bowl?
