The “nice” guys are showing their true colors.

A man in New York City punched and tossed a pregnant woman to the ground after he opened the door for her and she didn’t thank him, DNAInfo reports.

The assailant, identified as 32-year-old Darryl Guillyard, also told victim Lakeeya Walker that he would kill her baby, police say. The incident, which occurred the morning of March 5, left Walker bruised and scratched.

From DNAInfo:

When she failed to thank him for opening it, Guillyard called her “an ungrateful f–king b—h” and threw a cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee in her face, he then picked up the 5-foot 2-inch, 110-pound woman by the neck and started choking her. During the attack, he kicked her in the stomach and crotch after throwing her to the ground as she lay on the ground, she said.

“I was just thinking, try to protect yourself, try to protect yourself,” she said. “He was trying to kill my baby.”

Walker was confused about how the attacker knew of her pregnancy, which is not yet visible.  She did not know the perpetrator but thought the attack may have been premeditated.

Walker’s supervisor rushed her to the hospital, where doctors told her a blood clot had formed near the fetus’s head. It was later revealed that the baby survived the attack with no long-term damage.

Police have not yet made an arrest. Anyone with information about the attack is urged to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
