It’s been over a year since comedian Tracy Morgan was badly injured in a highway car crash, but things are finally looking up. Yesterday, Morgan tied the knot with his long-time fiancée Megan Wollover in a private ceremony. “After almost losing Tracy last year, I am so grateful to finally be married to the love of my life,” said Wollover. “We have been through so much and our love is stronger for it.” Morgan vowed he wouldn’t get married until he could walk down the aisle without using a cane or a walker. Among those in attendance were family and close friends. Morgan is slated to host an episode of Saturday Night Live this October. Read more.


Actor Forest Whitaker to Make Broadway Debut

Actor Forest Whitaker will be making his Broadway debut this spring. Whitaker is slated to star in the revival of Eugene O’Neill’s Hughie. He will play the role of Erie Smith. The play, which is set in the 1920s, made its debut on Broadway in 1964 and has been revived twice since then; once in 1975 and then again in 1996. The 2016 version of the play will be directed by Michael Grandage, and will run at the Shubert Theatre in NYC. Read more.


Poverty Among Students on The Rise

A new study shows that poverty among students is on the rise. The research, which was conducted by EdBuild, shows that the poverty rates have risen over the past nine years. In 2006, 31 percent of American students went to schools in “high poverty” districts. In 2013, that number sky rocketed to 49 percent. The data includes children between the ages of 5-17. “We are resigning an entire new generation to lower-class life by failing to fund their schools at levels necessary for their needs,” said Rebecca Sibilia, founder and CEO of EdBuild. In Florida, there was an increase of over 2 million students living in poverty. Read more.
