The Iran nuclear deal has been one of the most controversial issues in Congress. According to reports, President Obama has received enough votes to move forward with his plan. Senators Chris Coons of Delaware and Bob Casey of Pennsylvania recently backed the deal, and Sen. Barbara Mikulski of Maryland became the 34th person to vote yes; preventing those in Congress trying to ban the deal from going into effect. “This agreement will substantially constrain the Iranian nuclear program for its duration, and compared with all realistic alternatives, it is the best option available to us at this time,” said Sen. Jay Z Asks Not To Bring Wealth & Criminal Past Into “Big Pimpin” Copyright Suit 

Brooklyn-bred rapper Jay Z is slated to appear in court this October regarding the copyright of his 2000 song “Big Pimpin.” Osama Ahmed Fahmy, the nephew of an Egyptian composer, claims the emcee illegally sampled an Egyptian composition created by his uncle. Jay, real name Shawn Carter, doesn’t want his wealth or his past brushes with the law to be discussed during the trial. “Plaintiff has not identified the purpose of offering Defendants’ criminal histories, let alone articulated how the probative value of such evidence substantially outweighs their prejudicial effect. Nor can he: the criminal record is entirely irrelevant and poses an overwhelming risk of biasing the jury against Defendants,” said Carter’s lawyer. Read more.
