For example, “the eight years of the Bush administration’s gutting of the Civil Rights apparatus in the Justice Department, felt compelled to have a symbolic funeral for the word “nigger.”” I have no doubt this is true but it would be more convenient for me if what he’s saying is more specifically clear.

I mean, how do we continuously address the various platforms of race, global class rigidity, the environment with all of our group-specific advocacy orgs in place? I do not think we should perish that thought just yet. If these groups convene for issues at a time (housing, banking, urban planning) then maybe there’s a shot at achieving these post-label ideals.
